Wellness & Ayurveda — a Lumiere signature journey through Kerala and beyond

Wellness & Ayurveda

Genuine Ayurveda, honest rest, and time measured in treatments and tides rather than sights.

Kerala is the home of Ayurveda, and the difference between a spa menu and the real discipline is profound. We work only with physician-led retreats — places where your programme begins with a consultation rather than a brochure, and where the kitchen, the treatments and the daily rhythm all answer to your constitution.

A journey might centre on a full panchakarma at a retreat near Kollam, or take a gentler shape: a week of abhyanga, yoga at first light, and afternoons of enforced idleness by the sea. We match you to the retreat honestly. Some are austere and clinical; others soften the discipline with beautiful rooms and ocean air. Both have their place, and we will tell you plainly which suits your intention.

Before you travel we brief you on what the process asks of you — the food, the rest, the patience — so that you arrive ready, and leave changed rather than merely relaxed.

Moments we build in

  • Physician-led retreats, matched honestly to your intention
  • Programmes from a restful week to a full panchakarma
  • Yoga at first light, treatments by day, early quiet nights
  • A pre-travel briefing so you arrive prepared, not surprised

The rhythm of this journey

We do not publish day-by-day grids — your days will be composed around you. But every Lumiere journey shares a shape:

1

Arrive & exhale

The first day or two are deliberately light — a gentle landing, a good meal, time to let the flight fall away before the journey properly begins.

2

The heart of the journey

The middle days carry the theme: the places, people and slow hours this journey is really about, paced so no day feels like a transfer between sights.

3

A gentle close

We end somewhere restful, with an unhurried last morning and a departure timed kindly — so you leave full rather than tired.

Questions, answered

How long should an Ayurveda programme be?

Meaningful results begin around seven nights. A classical panchakarma asks for fourteen to twenty-one, and we will tell you honestly which your goals require.

Is it suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. We match first-timers to gentler, physician-led programmes and brief you thoroughly before you travel, so nothing about the process surprises you.

Which season is best?

Traditionally the monsoon, June to September — the air is cool and humid, treatments are considered most effective, and the retreats are calm and green.

Shall we sketch yours?

Tell us your dates, your pace, and what a perfect afternoon looks like. We will reply with a first sketch — no obligation, no template.
